James Bond is going to launch the fragrance to mark the 50th anniversary of the 007 franchise.

Harking back to similar products thrust upon the public during the heights of Bond Fever in the mid 1960s, the men’s aftershave created by P&G will be simply called ’007′.

Keith Snelgrove, of Bond production company Eon, tells Wwd,

“As a licensor, our hope would be to continue to evolve the fragrances. We are looking at the brand from a long-term perspective, and we’re looking forward to a long-term mutual partnership with (cosmetics company) P&G.”

The first scent will be aimed at men, but there are plans for a women’s perfume to follow. The fragrance will be launched at London department store Harrods in August, 2012.

Bond set photographer Greg Williams has shot the television commercial.
