Lindsay Lohan is going to star Elizabeth Taylor in the upcoming Lifetime’s ‘Liz & Dick’.
Lifetime announced the news of Lohan’s casting, with production on the biopic scheduled to begin in June in Los Angeles
Liz & Dick follows Taylor’s disorderly love affair with actor Richard Burton, who the actress met on the set of Cleopatra, and subsequently married and divorced twice.
Digital Spy report Lifetime’s executive vice president of programming Rob Sharenow as saying:
”We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor. She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon.”
Lindsay also mentioned her excitement on the role. She said:
”I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honoured to have been asked to play this role.”
According to reports Lindsay is already taking her new part very seriously, researching the late actress’ films, interviews and books for the role.
