Famous pop star, katy Perry is facing another court case. Katy Perry is facing a law suit in India, after claims were made that her ‘indecent dancing’ at an Indian cricket event.
The Sun reported that, Perry now faces an indecency charge in India stemming from a moment during her show when she brought Australian cricketer Doug Bollinger onstage to demonstrate the proper technique for swinging a bat. Bollinger cozied up behind her and gripped her microphone, a seemingly innocuous gesture that so angered a lawyer in attendance that he filed a charge against the pair — and an Indian court is set to hear the case.
The hearing will take place on 31 July, 2012. The court is acting on claims by Jebakumar that the opening show of the Indian Premier League was ‘obscene and lascivious, appealing to purient interest’.
The complainant, K. Jebakumar, also claimed that the show had distracted students who were writing exams at the time and pursued legal action under the Indian Penal Code.
The court will rule whether the complaint is justified, and if so, whether formal charges can be laid against the accused.
